Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults for nearly 60 years, hosted its annual Commencement Ceremony honoring the Class of 2010 in Kansas City, Missouri. “Because Grantham’s programs and courses are 100 percent online, our graduates rarely have the chance to interact with staff and faculty face-to-face,” said Cynthia Hoss, PhD, president of Grantham University. “Not only is Commencement a special time for our graduates and their families, it is an exciting time for Grantham faculty and staff because they get to meet the students they’ve motivated and encouraged throughout their degree programs.” Graduates arrived in Kansas City from all over the country to walk across the stage and be recognized for the hard work and dedication they’ve invested in furthering their education. The ceremony included remarks from key note speaker, Lieutenant General Robert L. Caslen, Jr., Commanding General, Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; retired Chief Master Sergeant John Harris of the Louisiana Air National Guard, Grantham’s Outstanding Graduate of the Year; and Class of 2010 graduate, Lieutenant Junior Grade Christopher Martin, Communicator, Security Manager and Information Assurance Officer for the Naval Submarine Support Center in Norfolk, Virginia.
